WHAT IS MM2H?

Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) is a program promoted by Malaysia Tourism Authority and the Immigration Department of Malaysia, to allow foreigners to stay in Malaysia for a period of ten (10) years. Foreigner who fulfills certain criteria of MM2H may apply, and the applicants is allowed to bring a spouse, an unmarried child under the age of 21 and parents who are over 60 years old.

Financial Requirements

Applicants are expected to be financially capable of supporting themselves on this programme in Malaysia.

Upon application:

Applicants aged below 50 years are required to show proof of fixed deposit worth a minimum of RM500,000 and offshore income of RM10,000 per month.

Applicants aged 50 and above may comply with the financial proof of RM350,000 in fixed deposit and off shore income of RM10,000 per month.

Upon approval:

Aged Below 50 years old

Open a fixed deposit account of RM300,000

After a period of one year, the participant can withdraw up to RM150,000 for approved expenses relating to house purchase, education for children in Malaysia, and medical purposes.

Must maintain a minimum balance of RM150,000 from the second year onwards and throughout stay in Malaysia under this programme.

Aged 50 years and above

Open a fixed deposit account of RM150,000

After a period of one year, the participant who fulfills the fixed deposit criterion can withdraw up to RM50,000 for approved expenses relating to house purchase, education for children in Malaysia and medical purposes.

Must maintain a minimum balance of RM100,000 from second year onwards and throughout his/her stay in Malaysia under this programme.

Medical Report

All applicants and their dependants are required to submit a medical report from any private hospital or registered clinic in Malaysia.

Medical Insurance

Approved participants and their dependents must possess valid medical insurance coverage that is applicable in Malaysia from any be given for participants who face difficulty in obtaining a medical insurance due to their age or medical condition.

Security Bond (Direct Application Only)

Applicants applying directly are required to fulfill the security bond condition. Please refer to Security Bond for rate per person by nationality, ranging from RM200 to RM2000.

Personal Bond (Application Through Agent)

Licensed companies are required to provide the personal bond for their clients who have been approved under the MM2H Programme.

Step To Apply

Applicant need to apply via online system, download the forms and attached together with required documents.

You can apply directly or apply through agents.

Conditional approval letter is issued to the approved applicant by the Immigration Unit, MM2H Centre.

After receiving the Conditional Approval letter:

  • Purchase Medical Insurance in any insurance company in Malaysia / summit Medical Insurance that is applicable in Malaysia.
  • Open the required Fixed Deposit account in any bank in Malaysia for one-year period on an auto renewal basis.
  • Obtain medical report from any private hospital or registered clinic in Malaysia.

Submit remaining documents to the Immigration Unit, MM2H Centre:

  • Submit Fixed Deposit certificate.
  • Submit Medical Insurance policy.
  • Submit medical report.

Applicant can now collect the Malaysia My Second Home Visa. The fee for Social Visit pass is RM 120/year. Social Visit Pass will be given according to the validity of the passport (maximum 10 years).

Documents For Application

For applications through agents, these are the documents needed:

Letter of Application
(by the applicant)

A copy of resume by the main applicant which include the following information

  • Academic qualification
  • Working experiences
  • Skills or expertise acquired

One (1) copy of MM2H Application Form – can be downloaded from MM2H website

  • Note 1: Applicant and all the dependents have to complete the form individually
  • Note 2: If agent is involved, the application form will be prepared by the agent.

Six (6) coloured passport size photographs

Three (3) copies of IM. 12 Form (Social Visit Pass)

  • One (1) original copy-can be downloaded from MM2H website / obtained at Immigration Department
  • Two (2) Photostat copies
  • Note 1; Applicant and all the dependents have to complete the form individually
  • Note 2: If agent is involved, the application form will be prepared by the agent.

Copy of Passport / Travel documents with certification on the pages with personal particulars

  • Note: Copy of previous passport is required if applicant / dependent(s) has renew his / her passport within the last 12 months.

Personal bond

  • Note: Fixed Deposit is to be submitted for main applicant only, the amount depends on the age of the main applicant

Certified copy of Birth Certificate / legal documents ( if accompanied by children / adopted children / step children / parents)

Self-declaration on your / dependents health conditions – Form can be downloaded from MM2H website

  • Note: If agent is involved, the application form will be prepared by the agent.

Letter of Good Conduct

Certified copy of Marriage Certificate (if accompanied by spouse)

Certified copy (s) of latest 3 months’ bank statement/other related financial document(s) to indicate the financial capability to support stay in Malaysia (At least a stable income of RM10,000 or more per month)

Main applicant’s Latest 3 months certified copies of pay slip / income statement (if employed) / pension slip etc;

Authorization letter from applicant to Malaysia My Second Home Centre to verify the financial documents, job and salary with the relevant parties.
